Oxenford House Staff and Services
The general manager has a wealth of experience in the care of the elderly, is a qualified nurse, and has attained the Registered Managers Award. Supporting her is the Deputy Manager. Our valued team of care staff, on duty around the clock, are also encouraged to undertake both in-house and external training, many having attained a minimum of NVQ Level 2 and Level 3. This enables our staff to successfully meet the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of our residents. Oxenford House likes residents to retain their independence, staff merely help with the things they can’t do.
On arrival at Oxenford House we will introduce you to a key member of staff and a long-standing resident, to assist you during the ‘settling in’ period. Oxenford House has resident’s meetings where everyone has an opportunity to join. Ideas and suggestions are proposed by the residents on everything, from menu planning to
entertainment. Staff ensure that there is always something going on such as:
› scrabble
› dominoes
› reminiscence
› quizzes
|
› music sessions
› in-house theatre shows
› poetry sessions and pastimes |
We build up relationships with students from local schools who on a weekly basis, visit residents whilst aiming for their Duke of Edinburgh Award. This interaction between young and elderly we find mutually beneficial.

About our staff and carers
The care team is complemented by catering, domestic and administrative staff who are also fully trained in their area of
expertise, and our lanscaped grounds are cared for by our visiting weekly gardener. Oxenford House has its own GP from a local surgery who visits once a week (other times by appointment) and we arrange visits by chiropodists, opticians and dentists, subject to the individual needs of each resident. Residents are encouraged to pursue and develop interests that attract them.
Our fees
Oxenford House fees range from £611.50 to £662.50 per week (these fees are from January – December 2010) and are dependent upon the type of room chosen and the level of care required.
This fee does include Physiotherapy/Massage Treatments. Once you have visited and can appreciate what Oxenford House has to offer, we are sure you will agree this represents good value for money.
